Gateway Medical Center Inc. D.B.A. Anderson Walk-In Medical Clinic was started in 1991 by John R. Munro M.D... The clinic is still owned by Dr. Munro; however, he retired after practicing medicine for over 50 years.

 

The clinic currently employs: 1 Physician, 5 Mid-Level Practitioners, 6 Medical Assistants, 4 Front Office Receptionists and 1 Clinic Administrator to serve our patients 7 days a week.

 

In the past year, the clinic has undergone a lot of physical changes from the paint and wall hangings to a new flow system known as "Express Care" as well as a paperless charting system to better serve our patients.

 

Patients that check in with a minor complaint are processed into the Express Care track.  This allows the patient to sign in, be seen by a medical provider and checked out in approximately 30 minutes.  A patient needing to be seen for pink eye is no longer waiting in a waiting room for 2 hours.  Along with the benefit of a timely office visit comes the reduced office visit price.  You are no longer charged the same price as a patient needing to be seen for chest pain.  Express Care offers a much lower price for those patients that fit into the Express Care category.

 

These new systems have become a huge asset to all of our patients.  They have also helped in improving patient care.

 

We do not make appointments for our regular office visits. This allows the patient to be seen when it is convenient for the patient, not when the doctor has time to see you.

 

We are currently making appointments for Diabetic Education which is done with Carrie McLaughlin N.P.  Carrie will sit down with you, review your glucometer, and discuss your diet plan and exercise program to help you manage your diabetes.
